We dreamed of starting a church with a simple goal: reach a younger generation of primarily English-speaking Hispanics and connect them into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ that results in a life lived heroically for Him. In April of 2010 under the leadership of Lead Pastor Rey Martinez, Waves of Faith held its first service in a converted warehouse in South Fort Worth and the rest is history.
From the beginning, Waves focused on reaching out to the non-churched community, building relationships in small groups meeting throughout the Metroplex, and meeting the needs of DFW and beyond in heroic ways no matter what the cost. The life-giving message of the Gospel, the passion and joy of Sunday Celebrations, and the outward focus of Waves brought steady growth over the next several years. In March of 2011, after months of renovation, Waves moved into a permanent facility in North Fort Worth in the Diamond Hill community. On Easter Sunday April 24th, 2011 Waves had its highest attended Sunday with over 600 people total attending our three identical services.
Over the years Waves has sent teams to India and Venezuela multiple times and in 2016 that global reach will expand to include Guatemala and Belize. Waves has always had a heart to serve others and in addition to our partnerships at several local elementary schools like Charles E Nash, MH Moore, and HV Helbing, the people of Waves lead worship and serve meals to men, women, & children from Fort Worth’s homeless community at Beautiful Feet each month and serve people with HIV/AIDS monthly at Samaritan House.
On January 1st, 2016 Waves made history once again when it called one of its own, Pastor Bobby Minor to lead the church, and Waves voted to merge with Courageous Church, the church Pastor Bobby launched in 2013 after spending almost 12 years at Waves.
We are certain that 2016 will be the year that Waves sees God take the church to levels we’ve never seen before and invite you to see for yourself how exciting church can be when the focus is simple and people are free to go after God with passion!
